Cottonwood Shores - The Hill Country Community Theatre is celebrating their 20th Anniversary with a spectacular fundraising event. The show is being performed in honor of Mrs. Betty Ann Edgerton for her extrordinary contribution to HCCT and to literature here in the Hill Country. GiGi Fischer, founding member and current HCCT Board Of Governors member had this to say about Betty Ann's contributions. "Betty Ann and her husband George were founding members of the Theatre and attended our first organizational meeting. They were both very supportive of the Theatre and did a variety of things including provide financial support to help our organization grow. Betty Ann was the consumate hostess and organized every Patron party, food and decor. She also hosted all the original Galas. She took acting classes and read plays. She was also a member of the Happy Hoofers (A tap group we formed that entertained at Patron functions)."

The production is Books To Broadway, an original Broadway Review written and directed by Christine Wood and starring Christine and Don Wood. "Annie Get Your Gun", "South Pacific", "Gypsy","All Shook Up", "Camelot", "Delovely", "Jekyll And Hyde", "Phantom Of The Opera" and "A Chorus Line" will be featured in song, dialogue and dance. The songs will be performed by Don and Christine, D.J. Yows, Mike Morelli and Mark Sullivan. The Wildflower Dance Company, choreographed by Mary Daniel will perform high energy numbers. Penny Breedlove will take part in narration. Mary Barker and Patricia Martin add glamour to the production.

When asked about the concept of the show, Christine Wood said this. "It was born from a discussion that I had about three years ago with Betty Ann Edgerton, President and one of the founders of The Book Club of Horseshoe Bay. We were commenting on the amazing number of Broadway Shows that were written from books and autobiographies of famous people. I thought that it would be an excellent idea for a review, so I began to research shows that had been big broadway hits. I chose shows with wonderful songs, ones that people remember after leaving the theatre. "Phantom Of The Opera" and "Jekyll And Hyde" have fascinating characters and beautiful scores. The Musical Review that we plan to perform at The Hill Country Community Theatre is an expanded version of my original show. There will be ensemble numbers with other singers and some great dancing by The Wildflower Dance Company."

Christine Wood has performed in such musical hits as "Music Man", "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum", "Lil' Abner", "110 In The Shade" and "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes". She also has done numerous radio commercials and acted as the Pontiac TV spokes-model.

Don Wood, who holds a Ph.D in Engineering, was a member of the Texas A&M Singing Cadets. He and Christine have been singing together for more than 17 years.
