Bedford Falls comes to Marble Falls at The Hill Country Community Theatre. The box office at HCCT is now open for everyone's beloved holiday favorite, It's A Wonderful Life. This will be a special treat however. This version is a musical! The show will open Thursday, December 1st with a complimentary wine and appetizer reception. Doors open at 6:45 with curtain at 7:30 pm.

Directed by Michelle Jett, who directed last season's huge hit, Steel Magnolias, It's A Wonderful Life is no doubt one of todays most popular Christmas stories. What is it about this tale, an uplifting, sentimental fable about the importance of the individual that strikes a responsive chord with so many viewers? It is a timeless story that offers a universal message which effectively touches upon one basic truth that we all would like to believe; that each of us, no matter how apparently insignificant, has the power to make a difference. It's A Wonderful Life also asks and answers a question that all of us think at one time or another, "what would this world be like if I had never been born?". It is a heartwarming tale of a man and a small town who learn the true meaning of Christmas. This stage version is faithful to the movie, following nearly all of the scenes from the film and keeping the well-known characters of Bedford Falls. You'll meet young George, who saves Mr. Gower from a tragic mistake. You'll see the touching romance between George and Mary. There's the absent minded Uncle Billy, who is George's business partner and of course, there's the nasty Mr. Potter who runs the town's biggest bank and wants to drive George and his smaller Savings & Loan out of business. With humor, nostalgia and poignancy, we see George's life unfold until the year 1945 when Uncle Billy loses $8,000. George is finally driven to the edge. Then, in classic Christmas Carol fashion, the angel Clarence arrives and shows George what life in Bedford Falls would have been if he had never been born. George, and all of us realize that he has done far more than lead an ordinary life and of course how wonderful life truly is.
