Playwrights are invited to submit a previously unpublished play to the Hill Country Playwriting Festival. The festival is sponsored by the award winning Hill Country Community Theatre, and will be held January 26, 27, and 28th in and around Marble Falls, TX.

Selected playwrights will be invited to stay in a beautiful area lodge and work on their script with a director and actors, culminating in staged readings, which will include a panel session with judges and other theatre professionals.

The winning script will receive $500 and a commitment of production from HCCT.

There are no restrictions on content. Full length and one act plays will be accepted.

Scripts must not have been previously published. Selected Scripts will be rehearsed and staged readings will be presented over Friday and Saturday, with finalist performing on Sunday morning. Actors, Directors, and Playwrights will be housed in a Hill Country Lodge at the Festival’s expense. Travel and meals are not included.

Submissions will be accepted from Dec 1st through Dec 22nd. One submission per Playwright. Email submission of scripts to productionmanager@hcct.org are encouraged. Please send only a secure PDF copy that includes copyright if submitting electronically. Scripts submitted through the mail must include 3 copies of the script and a self addressed stamped envelope for return of scripts. All scripts must be accompanied by a cover letter containing the name of the playwright, the title of the script, signed permission statements by any collaborators, and contact information including address, telephone number and email. Selected Playwrights will be notified by email by January 8th.
