HCCT-04-01 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CAST, CREW, DIRECTOR NAMED FOR HCCT MUSICAL:
I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE!

Off-Broadway’s longest running revue pokes fun at romance, relationships.

COTTONWOOD SHORES, TEXAS (Jan. 23, 2003) – Don’t be surprised when you pass Hill Country Community Theatre (HCCT) during the next few weeks and hear raucous laughter. Even the actors are breaking up during rehearsals of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!

The longest–running Off-Broadway revue in history, written by Joe DiPietro, is a celebration of the sometimes wacky courtship and marriage game in America, complete with both humorous and touching songs and the sprightly music of Jimmy Roberts.

“We have a really great cast for this lighthearted look at romance,” says Bruce Hennie, HCCT Executive Director, who directs and may even possibly appear in the third show of the current season. The box office opens to HCCT’s patron membership on Feb. 9 and to the general public Feb. 11. The show runs Feb. 19 through March 7.

“Change takes on the truths and myths behind the greatest riddle in history – the relationship between men and women!” states Hennie. “That’s the conundrum both men and women have been trying to figure out for millennia. This revue explores our journey to romance from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while revealing the agonies and triumphs of in-laws, newborns, family car trips and even the pick-up techniques of the geriatric set!”

Elizabeth Knebel of Kingsland is Music Director, and Monica Griffin of Marble Falls, also in the cast, is Vocal Director. Area newcomer Taylor Smith of Meadowlakes is Stage Manager, and Terri Cantu of Horseshoe Bay is in charge of costumes.

The cast, portraying multiple roles as business executives, bored dates, tennis players, attorneys, new parents, travelers, mourners, lovers, a prison inmate, a dating video prospect and an engineer, include three husband and wife teams, and two newcomers among many familiar faces.

Making their first appearance on the HCCT stage are Diana Thomson of Cottonwood Shores and Carl Conger of Horseshoe Bay. Real-life couples joining them are Melodie Lane and Pete Pleban, Winter-Texans from Minnesota who are building a new home in Spicewood; Dennis and Jane Kelley Martin from Burnet, and Preston and Dale Kirk of Spicewood.

Mark Fernandes of Granite Shoals, who has invigorated HCCT audiences for years with over-the-top characters, returns along with Carolyn Lloyd of Horseshoe Bay and Jennifer Romero of Round Mountain.

The 147-seat playhouse is located at 4003 FM 2147 West, across from Bob’s Exxon and at the entrance to Cottonwood Shores, between Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay.
