HCCT-04-04 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FIVE PERFORMANCES LEFT FOR HCCT MUSICAL,
I LOVE YOU, YOU’RE PERFECT, NOW CHANGE

Make a “date” for witty look at contemporary romance, relationships

MARBLE FALLS, TEXAS (March 2, 2004) – The laugh-filled musical revue I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change begins its last five performances at the Hill Country Community Theatre (HCCT) at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The final show is a 2:15 p.m. Sunday.

Change, the longest–running off-Broadway revue in history, is a celebration of this country’s often wacky courtship and marriage game. Playwright Joe DiPietro’s lively script is smartly complemented by Jimmy Robert’s merry, memorable music.

The adult revue explores the winding journey to romance, from dating and waiting to love and marriage. The HCCT version received“Best of the Rest” coverage in the Austin American-Statesman’s “Best Bets” section after only three of its 14-performance run.

The Box Office (830-798-8944) is open Monday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Reservations also can be made through www.hcct.org, or left on the answering machine. No tickets will be sold for children under 12. The 147-seat playhouse is located at 4003 FM 2147 West, at the entrance to Cottonwood Shores, between Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay.

Change takes on the truths and myths behind humanity’s great riddle – the relationship between men and women. The lighthearted look at romance reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws, newborns, family car trips and even the pick-up techniques of the seniors set! There are portrayals of business executives, bored dates, tennis players, wacky attorneys, new parents, travelers, mourners on the make, reluctant lovers, a prison inmate, bride and groom, a dating video prospect and single-guy engineer and golfer.

The cast includes Carl Conger, Mark Fernandes, Monica Griffin, Bruce Hennie, Preston and Dale Kirk, Melodie Lane, Carolyn Lloyd, Dennis and Jane Kelley Martin, Pete Pleban, Jennifer Romero and Diana Thomson – from five different cities.

Elizabeth Knebel of Kingsland is Music Director; Monica Griffin of Marble Falls, Vocal Director; Kathleen VanBerg of Inks Lake, Choreographer; Terri Cantu of Horseshoe Bay, Costumes; Taylor Smith of Meadowlakes, Stage Manager. Harmony Peacock of Marble Falls designed the lighting.
